Q: Going for induction this evening

2 weeks of intense regular contractions and no cervical change. Doctors are admitting me to hospital tonight to start induction.

Anyone been induced and how long should i expect it to take to kick start my labour properly?

I went 28 hrs with my first. 22 hr of not feeling anything because she was blocking a pain nerve. They broke my water and started me on pitocin at noon (I stalled out at 8 cm and lucked out cause I was able to get the epidural because of the stall out) and my daughter was born 6PM on the dot. It depends on your body.

i was induced with my first. In total it took 10 hours from the time I started to the time my son was born. It kicks in pretty quickly once they start, and it depends if your water breaks naturally or if the doc breaks your water. My OB broke my water after 6 hours, then poof 4 hours later my son was born. Best of luck and congrats!!

My sister had her baby within 4 hours of being induced. But I think every woman is different. Good luck and congratulations.
