Thanks for all the advice!!! I ended up having a little coffee cake and some orange juice for breakfast. The tech said she couldn't confidently say what sexes the babies were but she guess 60% that they both are girls. I'll take it for now! Even though I was hoping for one of each!

My doctor told me to empty my bladder before the appointment then drink 28 ounces of water before the ultrasound to make sure my bladder is nice and full and they'll be able to get better pictures. Mine is in 13 days!

Hi!! I'm going for my gender scan on Monday!! Can't wait!! One of my friends went last week and she ate sugar before the appointment. Her baby moved so much that they couldn't determine the gender!! I decided I'm just going as is and I'm not going to eat or drink anything different than normal :)

As a previous person said - this ultrasound is to check the babies anatomy and internal organs to ensure baby/ies are growing properly and have no abnormalities - finding out the gender is just a bonus.

With my first pregnancy, my baby was moving so much that it too the US tech 3 hours to finish all her readings. She had me lying in all sorts of awkward positions trying to get the best angle possible, and needless to say both she and I were extremely frustrated by the end of the US (and my back was killing me!)

So maybe just keep this in mind before you dose your babies up on sugar!

A bag of skittles will do the trick. Thats what I was told, and my baby girl was all over the place. She kept kicking the doplar, it was hilarious.

At my last ultrasound the baby was having a dance party. When I got back in my car I realized the starbucks drink I had in my cup holder... I had forgotten to say decaf! I had only drank half of it, but it seemed to work!

My little one was moving a ton during our last ultrasound but it was also the anatomy scan. The technician really struggled to get good readings because of how much she was moving. Just a heads up.

I had a glass of juice before my ultrasound and my little boy was bouncing around like crazy-- not the best idea in hindsight. A word of warning, though-- if this gender scan is also your anomaly scan you're not going to want them to be moving around as much; it can make it REALLY difficult for the technician to get the information they need, which frankly is a lot more important than being able to find out their gender.

When I went for my 3D scan to determine gender, they said to eat a big burst of sugar about 30 minutes before my appointment time. Worked like a charm with my son, because he was quite the entertainer! Best of luck tomorrow!! I know the night before we went I didn't sleep a wink!
