Q: How do I tell my reluctant boyfriend that I'm pregnant?

I've been with my boyfriend for just over a year but we've known each other our whole lives. We have just started talking about starting a family and getting married. I just found out I'm pregnant about 2 weeks after I lost my job and my insurance. He is going to be very concerned with 'how we're going to do this'. I've known since Tuesday that I'm pregnant and it's killing me that I'm keeping it a secret. Any suggestions on how to break the news?? I'm so nervous and I just want to be excited.

hayleycynthia that is so true! Thank you for reminding me of that. I'm still adjusting to the fact that I'm pregnant so I can only imagine what it's like for him. He took it fine at first and then this morning had his 'meltdown' which usually means its out of his system and in time he will be fine. Love and patience do wonders!! Thanks for the advice!

Be okay with a first reaction that is negative. My dh completely freaked out when I told him I was preg the first time (we hadn't been planning). He is the best father ever though and would move heaven and earth for our little girl. He just needed time. :-)

Just be honest with him. Tell him you love him very much and that, together, the two of you will be able to work through everything. Good luck! This should be exciting!! :)
