My kitty has been all about mommy since I found out I was pregnant. She follows me around the house & the minute I sit down she is on my lap for a nap. I think it's sweet and nothing to worry about. Maybe if you give him a little attention, maybe it will settle down a bit. Congrats

This post made me laugh because I have two cats and a dog. They all started acting funny before I had a positive test. My neighbors' dog hates me, too, and she comes to the fence with her tail wagging now. So funny how animals can sense pregnancy, among other things. My cats have been following me around and sleeping at the foot of the bed since I got pregnant. And my boy kitty times his potty time around my hubby's work day so I don't have to clean the box (at least, I would like to think he is doing it because of me! LOL). My dog is super protective of me now, too, so I agree with the others that animals can definitely sense a change in your body. Have fun with that cat yelling at you and staring at you all day. ;)

I think animals know when something is different about us. They have a sense of smell that is so much better than ours! I know my cats can tell when i'm pregnant, they get really affectionate and want to sit with me all the time. One even slept with us last night and he usually doesn't even come in at night! My little dog likes to lay on my lap with his ear against my belly too. I think he can hear the baby in there. lol

Debs, this sounds funny but my dog likes to "hug" me. He is about 50 pounds he will throw his front legs around my hips and squeeze me when I get home, and I hug him back. His head funnily enough ends up right at my belly. He has been doing this a lot more lately (sniffing me a lot as well), been more protective, and not settling until I get home. Even if my husband is there with him, he won't eat his dinner without me home. I think animals are amazing creatures, that just know things. He seemed more alert last time I was pregnant as well. Funny little guy he is. :)

Cats can sense when you're pregnant. Mine let me know days before I was able to take a test that something was up! She would follow me around the house, meow, and want to lick me, etc. It drives me nuts, because for whatever reason, when I'm pregnant I develop an aversion to animals touching/licking me! From what I've read, cats are able to smell through your skin the hormonal changes that are going on and sense something is "different." I'm assuming that's why my cat wants to lick me all the time. :)
