I've heard the 3rd trimester isn't until your 28 weeks along.

Not a personal attack kelliers. Just personal experience after two pregnancies. I have never had an elderly man (or any man for that matter) ask me how many "weeks" I was. She was asking for advice & I gave her my opinion based on my experience. And I never said that 28 weeks was 7 months. What I said was that 28 weeks was the START of the 7th month, which means you have just completed the 6th.

No one has ever complained, including kids and elderly. They all have known it's x weeks out of 40. If I said 7 months at 28 weeks people assumed I was due an entire month earlier than I was, and then I had to explain no...I actually have 12 weeks to go...ended up being more of a hassle for me. If you're going to give how many months along you are, I would go by how much time you have left. So, I'd say 6 months at 28 weeks, 7 months at 32 weeks, 8 at 36 weeks.

When converting weeks to months, I try & make it simple & divide by 4. So, at 28 weeks I would say I'm starting my 7th month. To older people, or people that have never had kids, weeks don't mean all that much.

Technically 26 w 6d but usually we just call it 27 :) The math for months is wonky because 40 weeks is 10 4 week months so if you want 9 months some months have to be 5 weeks and that's entirely dependent on how you do the math. When people ask how far along I am I give them week to make everything easier.

One of my pregnancy books say 27 weeks until the end of pregnancy is the 3rd Trimester. Im due on the 4th of Feb and I go into my 3rd trimester on the 5th of November which will be 27 weeks for me.
