Q: What's wrong with me??

My due date is tomorrow and I've only been dilated to a 2 for the last 3 weeks. Friday I had my bloody show and was having strong regular contractions until Saturday night and now they are just off and on. My OB was surprised that I didn't deliver Friday or Saturday, he himself had even told me how shocked he was at my appointment this morning. What is wrong with me? Why am I not dilating? I've tried sex, teas, pineapple, walking, driving, baths, showers. I'm so upset cause nothing is working and I don't know what to do. I don't want to be pregnant anymore. It's really getting to me emotionally plus I've been gaining 2+ pounds a week and also have protein building up. My OB still won't do anything until next week. What else can I do? At this point I just want to stay in bed and cry.

Awe! I know how you feel. I was dialated to 4cm for about 4 weeks! I thought for sure the baby would come early...but he ended up being a week late! Frustrating for sure....plus I had contractions everyday for the last month. Just relax and get as much sleep as possible while you can!!!

Yes, try the pedicure. I've been told by my manicurist that there are pressure points in your foot that can help induce uterine contractions. So, tell them to rub away!

Poor thing! You sound like me with the small house and being crazy with the kids and animals without a break. I hope you get your bundle soon and that you can start to relax again. I feel guilty because I've been so crazy and stressed that I still don't feel that, "oh I can't wait to hold my baby" feeling. I'm more like stay for a while cause I don't know how I'm going to juggle it all. Very scared. I'll keep you in my thoughts girl ;).

Thanks. I'm getting a pedicure Friday. It's very hard to relax here especially cause my boyfriend has 3 kids and I have one from my first marriage. The only thing good about not having her tomorrow is that my daughters won't have the same birthdays. But yeah my house is small and cramped and I never get a break. There's always kids or animals or housework that needs taken care of and the stress of being bipolar and pregnant off medications is really getting to me. Plus I don't like the 41 pounds weight gain it's really upset me cause I was already overweight before getting pregnant. My friend suggested I get a pregnancy massage instead of the pedicure so depending on the price I might.

I know it's hard at this point, but try relaxing a little...your body might respond! Go get a pedicure, pamper yourself, deep breathing/meditation...whatever it is that makes you calm and relaxed (as much as you can be at this point). It sounds like your body is putting all it's energy into your worry and stress. I hope you find some relief soon!

Nothing! We had two bouts of false labor and had sex every day for like two weeks with no baby to show. I went into labor 3 days past my due date and it went fast-12 hours start to finish for my first baby. Your body is doing some of the work ahead of time-hopefully it will make labor that much faster for you! In the meantime, enjoy your last few days of solitude with your hubby and make the most of it. The end is near!!

I'm glad she's not coming tomorrow because my oldest will be 7 but to not have any progress in 3 weeks is just not normal. I don't want an induction but I don't want to go another 2 weeks.

Nothing is wrong with you! You're baby is just not ready to come out yet...it'll happen soon! In the mean time enjoy these last few days...get pampered and relax! You'll be a mommy before you know it!
