Q: Opinions on second inductions? (even if just for fun) Are they faster or the same?

Please read my info, and give me your opinion, even if just for fun!

My first was induced at 37w due to preeclampsia. I went into it 2 cm dilated, but only about 25% effaced. They started on the pitocin immediately, with no cervical ripener. I labored for 26 hrs, pushed for 1 hr. I was not allowed to have an epidural until I was 7 cm, (21 hours in) and by that time I was on 5 drugs for BP and nausea, oxygen, and was unable to speak at all. It was the worst experience of my life!

Now I am scheduled to be induced again, but THIS time is WAY different!! Thank god no preeclampsia! Instead I have a big baby, so induction will be at 39w 2d. My cervix is 2-3 cm, and 80% effaced, and my Dr will start with a prostoglandin to ripen it even more. I have already been having pre-labor off and on for a few weeks, so I know my body is close. Also, this is a second child.

I just REALLY dont want to labor for that long again!

Opinions? THANK YOU

My 1st labor was around 12 hours start to finish and was an induction... My second I went in to be induced and was already having contractions so they just broke my water, put in the cervical softener thing and pitocin... that was around 8am. I was at 10cm by 1pm pushed 3 times and he was born at 1:06pm... I hope this one is just as quick lol my Dr. said it should be if not quicker, but who knows.

It's hard to say since we are not medical professionals. Docs have told me that laboring usually is quicker with each pregnancy.
