Male or Female by HCG hormones 3 weeks after conception...

This is an interesting topic to me. I think back to when I found out I was pregnant with my 1st son and how late I got a BFP... I was 19dpo. I found that out by a dating scan done at 10 weeks with him because I never had regular periods at that time. I never knew my HCG levels then but getting a late BFP makes me understand my levels were low with him.
My last pregnancy, my levels were in the normal levels for HCG but never on the higher side. It was a boy.
This time around my levels started on the lower end of normal levels which makes me feel like it is another boy. Selfishly I would like to have another boy for my Son and of course would be thrilled if it is a girl. Either way I will be ecstatic because life is truly a miracle! Here is one of the few articles I found on this topic: http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/differences-between-boys/
Interesting topic!

I am having the Harmony test done at my next appt. on July 29 which I will be 11w4d. I should know what sex it is 10 days after. I just thought this topic was interesting.

Hmmm this is interesting. I had my first BFP at 10dpo with all three pregnancies so far, and the first two were girls!

This is pretty interesting! I wonder if this is why some women have an HCG level much higher/lower than the statistical numbers. We do not know the gender of our little one (it is a surprise!). But of course I went and took a look at my 6 week HCG out of curiosity. It was 21,343, which is smack dab in the middle of the "6 weeks LMP: 1,080 – 56,500 mIU/ml" quoted on americanpregnancy.org. Not sure to think about that, I guess baby still wants his/her gender to be a surprise also. :)

My midwife just told me about the Harmony test you have done at 10 weeks. It checks for chromosome issues but can also determine the sex. I'm trying to decide if I want to know that soon or not.
