Flew in a couple days ago, Max didn't cry once and I didn't lose my lunch on the plane, so I'm pretty proud of both of us! It was definitely a long day (got up at 5:30 am to be at the airport in time for our 8:30 flight, laid over in Denver for 3 hours, arrived at 4:00 pm), and my brother-in-law is such a grumpy ass it's hard to be around him, but glad to be here and able to help my sister out, particularly since he won't. He's rude to me, totally dismissive of Max, and downright mean to my sister, who just makes excuses for his behavior. It's so difficult to watch her pander to his constant bad mood.
I complain about my husband sometimes, but being around this butthead for more than 5 seconds makes me appreciate him so much... He's such a great dad and he's so good to me. He's having a really hard time with the idea that we're gone for 3 weeks, my ever-stoic Chuck actually teared up as Max and I boarded the plane, it was sad and very sweet.
Still, jerk face can stick it up his nose, I'm excited to meet little Cal any day, and to see how Max reacts to such a tiny baby... Good practice!
