Spotting?
By mrsamanda » Posted Dec. 28, 2013 11:21am - 478 views - 5 comments

I'm scared. I just went pee and wiped and saw a small pinkish mucusy place on the paper. We have not had sex the past few days. And I've had some mild/dull cramping. Nothing sharp just uncomfortable. And we have to leave for the airport in less than 2 hours.

I'll keep you in my prayers too. I've had spotting with all pregnancies but my first so hopefully it will just resolve itself quickly to ease your mind. Never an easy thing to go through.

That was the first time I've checked since pregnant. But I do look at the paper every time I pee.

Well that's definitely good! I know your cervix can be more tender and prone to irritation while pregnant. As your body makes more blood (by the time you're full term I think you have 150% of the amount of blood in a non-pregnant woman) bleeding can happen. I didn't have spotting, but I get nose bleeds so much easier, bleeding gums, and when I get a shot or have to give blood at the doctor I bleed everywhere. Maybe the same thing can happen with the cervix! Are you checking your cervix frequently? This might be causing irritation (my doctor told me to stop). I do still check the toilet paper every time I go to the bathroom though.

I haven't seen anymore since and I've peed a few times and even checked my cervix and wiped my finger on the tissue and there was no color. My cervix felt super spongey and squishy and I never have been able to tell if my cervix was open or closed so I couldn't tell. There's always a little dip in it.

I know it's not going to help calm your nerves, but spotting happens in 1 in 3 women in the first few months of pregnancies. Sending up a prayer for you and your baby!
